Procedure for Launching Your Shortcode Service
:-
Step 1 – Client requests information on shortcode services.
Step 2 – Shortcode Service document is sent by email to client.
Step 3 – Client replies by email requesting a particular service (Dedicated or Shared).
Step 4 – Service Description Document (SDD) is sent to client.
Step 5 – Client completes the SDD and sends it back.
Step 6 – TextNigeria reviews the SDD and sends the client an invoice.
Step 7 – Once payment is received we configure and process your service with the networks.
Step 8 – Client is notified once their service is ready for launch.
Administrative Requirements
:-
Below are the documents we would require from the client in order to launch the service on the various networks.
1. A letter of authorization from the client appointing TextNigeria as the service provider.
2. A completed Service Description Document (SDD)
3. An acknowledged copy of the Consumer Protection Council Form (this only applies to promotions where there are prize incentives)

Shared SMS Shortcodes
Shared shortcodes are a low-cost and quick solution for a client expecting low to moderate volume of messages. With these shortcodes, you share a shortcode number with other customers and use keywords to direct messages to your particular application and / or trigger a specific response.
Keywords can also be used to reinforce the Company/ brand name, as the mobile user would have to type the special keyword in order to interact with the company / brand.
How to use the service:-
Mobile user types the client’s keyword (leaves a space) followed by their message and sends text to shortcode.The cost of shared short code services is N 70, 000 while it’s monthly access fee is N 30, 000. This requires 2 – 3 weeks for the service to be activated.
Dedicated SMS Shortcodes
Dedicated shortcodes are for clients who intend to provide a range of different mobile services, expect a high monthly volume of messages or want to offer more complex 2-way services. Messages to the short codes are MO billed i.e. the user is charged once they send a message to the shortcode.
The cost of dedicated short code services is N 250, 000 while its monthly access fee is N 150, 000. This requires 6 – 8 weeks for the service to be activated.

2. Prices do not include VAT
3. Discounts are available based on length of contract
How the will you make money from these?
You can charge people for using your shortcode services. This you can do by basically offering enticing prizes for grabs where the people who text the most to your SMS shortcode wins. The prize can be recharge cards, phones, tickets to the movies, DVDs, CD’s, Books etc As long as the prize worth more than what you will be charging per text sent to your SMS shortcode. Remember, the prize is not for everybody that participates but the person with the highest number of replies.
The SMS shortcode tariff varies from N 30.00 to N 50.00, to N 75.00 to N 100.00 per each SMS sent to the shortcode. On every SMS sent to the shortcode, you make a return between 25% – 60% depending on the GSM network used.
Payments from Network:-
1. Client (You) receives Net Revenue.
2. Net Revenue is inclusive of all network statutory deductions.
3. Net Revenue is inclusive of a 6% administrative fee (after statutory deductions).
4. Final Payment is based on the Network Logs.
5. TextNigeria will process all payments on behalf of the client.
6. TextNigeria pays the client within 14 days of receipt of payment from the networks.

Zain 120 Days
Glo Not Specific
Etisalat 90 Days
Multilinks 120 Days
ZoomMobile 120 Days
