Remember, you don’t need any sophisticated phone to get this started.

How Do I Get Started

Below is the step by step guide on how to set up the Open Chat system and put it to work immediately without any delay. There are two approaches to this depending on which one is convenient for you.

METHOD 1

1. Visit the Open Chat website at: www.open-chat.net

2. You will be required to do three things on that website as you fill the form on the website:

a. fill in your Airtel number,
b. fill in your yahoo mail username
c. fill in your yahoo mail password
d. click on sign up and wait for the system to log you in.

3. Immediately after this is done, some text messages will be sent to your Airtel line (which should be in your phone by now if you are doing what you are reading).

4. Follow the instructions in this text messages and you should be through in 10 minutes!

METHOD 2

This method is suitable for the the “On The Spot” configuration. Below is the step by step process:

1. Ensure that the phone is switched on and that the Airtel sim card is properly inserted

2. Load an Airtel credit of N100 on the line

3. Send N as text message to 38660

4. You will get the following message instantly:

“Welcome! Type L followed by space, then type your Yahoo username (don’t add the @yahoo.com at the back) followed by a space, then your yahoo password.

Text to 38660………………”

The message continues.

5. Follow all these instructions accordingly.

6. You will also receive a SECRET KEY for your account in one of the messages. Just ensure that the message instructions are well followed to the letter!

7. One of the instructions will tell you to send P100 to 38660.This will ensure that the N100 Airtel credit already loaded is charged and it will ensure that you stay connected to the OpenChat service for the next 3 days.

This step (7) will have to be repeated every 3 days meaning that the service will cost you N100/for every 3 days!

If you are doing this as a service for anybody, setting up the system for the person is your only responsibility. Its now the responsibility of the client to ensure that N100 is loaded and converted every 3 days to ensure the continuity of the service. If you think this is costly, I would like to tell you that blackberry users pay N3, 000 every month to get the same thing you will now be getting with your small phone for an approximate of N1000 a month (every 3 days in a month amounts to 10 times, meaning that N100 X 10 =N1000/month)

THE CODES

With the above basic foundations properly laid, you are now set to start using your phones for a lot of things.

Below is a list of codes and commands needed to help you maximize this amazing technology not only for your personal pleasure, but also to make money by doing it for others.

1. L Send L (space) Yahoo username (space) Yahoo password to: 38660. E.g Send “L Jenifer4u XXXXX” to 38660 (this allows a new user to log on to the system for the first time)

2. C Send C to: 38660. E.g Send C to 38660 (this connects an existing user to the SMS service platform).

3. P Send P100 to: 38660. This prompts the user to pay before he/she starts a chat session. This will give the user access for certain number of days.(3 days)

4. AB Send AB (space) yahoo username to: 38660. E.g. AB Jenifer4u to 38660. This allows the user to add new buddies to his/her buddy list (messenger list). A message will be sent to you stating that your friend has been added to your buddy’s list.

5. RB Send RB (space) yahoo username to: 38660. E.g. RB Jenifer4u to 38660. This allows a user to remove buddies from his/her buddy list (messenger list). This will immediately remove your buddy from the list

6. D Send D to: 38660. This disconnects a user from the service.

7. LI or CI Send CI to: 38660 or Send LI to 38660. A user can connect or login as invisible with this code.

8. BO Send BO to: 38660. A user can view his /her buddies Online.

9. BF Send BF (space) yahoo username to: 38660. E.g. BF Jenifer4u to 38660. To find a specific buddy whether that buddy is offline or online.

10. T Send T (space) yahoo username (space) Password. Secret-Key to: 38660. E.g. T jenifer4u XXXXX XXXX to: 38660. This allows the user to transfer his account to another line

11. B Send B to: 38660. This will allow a user to view all buddies

12. M+ Send M+ to: 38660. This allows a user to view the next page of buddy list

13. M- Send M- to: 38660 . This allows a user to see the previous page of buddy list

14. M++ Send M++ to: 38660. This allows a user to view the last page of buddy list

15. M– Send M– to: 38660. This allows a user to view the first page of buddy list

16. AS Send AS to: 38660. This allows the user to confirm the remaining access days before the expiration period.

17. IB Send IB (space) yahoo username to: 38660. E.g. IB jenifer4u to 38660. This allows a user to ignore a particular buddy.

18. UB Send UB to: 38660. This allows a user to un-ignore a specific buddy or buddies.

19. M x Send M x to: 38660. (where x represents a number). E.g M 3 to 38660. This allows a user to move to a specific page.

20. H Send H to 38660. This allows a user to navigate to the help section

21. CU Send CU (space) yahoo username(space) password (space) secret-Key to: 38660. E.g.CU jenifer4u xxxxx xxxx to 38660 This allows a user to change from an already logged on username to another username. NB: To use this operation, all existing access days will be reset to zero. Switching is only allowed between two usernames.
